Mussina (W, 10-4) 3.87 ERA
Mussina’s runs all came in the first inning, when he gave up a 3-run HR to Carlos Lee. From that point on Mussina cruised, shutting down the Astros and grabbing his 10th win of the season.
Its seems that, at least for the first half of 2008, reports of the demise of Mike Mussina’s career have been greatly exaggerated.

He better not falter b/c it looks like Wang could be done for the year. But they might trade for CC, who is better than Wang anyway.

Internet reports are at least 6 weeks in a boot for Wang. He’s probably done for the year. Sorry.
Who comes up now? Karstens? Moose, Petitte, Joba, Rasner and Karstens. Yikes. The Moose betting keep it up, or it will be a long season.
Making the Joba decision look right, however.

Jerry Manuel from the White Sox. Just so glad to see Willie gone that i couldn’t care less how poorly the situation was handled by management.

I think the Mets should look at Tony Pena from the Yankees. He was good with an awful Royals team, he’s latin, and he has a catchers mentality. He’s also used to the NY area, and can pull the Ozzie guillen-esq rants at the media and people will write it off as being a fiery latino.

Why does being Latin matter? I thought Pena was an ass in KC, unless I’m confusing him with Hal McRae, who definately was an ass.
In any event, I want Bobby V back for next year, unless Manuel turns this thing around.

oh and on a side-note, Giambi hit 2 HR last night and now is top 10 in baseball in slugging, OPS and HR. Mussina has the second most wins in all of baseball, with a 3.87 ERA. caw, caw

Long season. Maybe Giambi found himself a new Balco. I said weeks ago that I wrote giambi off too soon, but I’m still not sipping the Mussina kool-aid.
